We are delighted to see completion of another successful BREEAM project in the educational space, this time in North West London.
North Brent secondary school is a new, sustainable five-form building with an interlinked sixth form block, spacious modern classrooms and the latest technology. The £27m scheme delivered by BAM is part of the Wembley Multi-Academy Trust providing 1,150 places for pupils in years 7 to 13.
Learning facilities include science laboratories, a library, a sports hall, main hall and sixth form common room. The roof of the sixth-form block houses a multi-use games area (MUGA), optimising the space available on the urban site.
BAM was appointed to deliver the scheme by the Department for Education (DfE) under its National Education Framework and has been on the Department for Education’s five recent frameworks, beginning in 2009 and during this time has created more than 90,000 pupil places and 675,000m² of education facilities. The project is on course to secure a BREEAM Excellent sustainability rating.
